Preliminary Design Underway for Phase 2: DDOT has begun preliminary design of the northern half of the trail from Bates Road, NE to Takoma Park. Workers are conducting field surveys to determine topography and property lines. The next step is to lay out the proposed alignment on paper and share it with the community. DDOT will be looking for public input this winter (2015), with the 30% design plans scheduled for completion in the spring. Final design is expected to start in 2015, with construction estimated for 2016 or 2017.
