Riding along the Met Branch Trail is a chance to trip through the changing NE neighborhoods of D.C. The trail moves from off-road relaxed curves in Silver Spring to refreshing on-road splendor of the tall tree canopy on Sandy Spring Road, and to a roomy bike lane on 3rd Street that conveniently passes a tasty Jamaican cafe. Alternating on-road, on bike-lane, on trail, the Met Branch enters D.C. at the bustling hub of Union Station with building excitement. Fun to navigate now, but will be even better when the soon-to-be section is completed.
